Vitamin Sea Project Chelmarsh: Inspiring Young Minds with Seaful
Two Seaful days at Chelmarsh, what a fantastic success! We welcomed 34 children across the sessions, and it was clear from the start that something special was unfolding.
Paddleboarding was, as always, a highlight. The children grew in confidence throughout, and many shared how much they enjoyed the experience.
“All four groups over the two days did a minute of laying on their boards in silence , two actually nodded off yesterday (no snoring👍🏻) , they told us after about the sound of the water , the birds , the ducks , the breeze in the trees, a helicopter 🙄, several said they felt peaceful or relaxed ….. admittedly minutes later it was shrieks screams and splashes 😃” David – Volunteer
Making a difference through Vitamin Sea
The new Water Cycle Relay Game was equally impactful. Our initial knowledge checks showed that most children understood evaporation, but concepts like springs, aquifers, and estuaries were new to many.
By the end of the session, they could confidently describe the full water cycle and explain how pollutants travel through our waterways into the ocean.
We wrapped up with a deep breath and a discussion about where most of our oxygen comes from, many thought it was trees, so it was a powerful moment to introduce the ocean’s role in producing oxygen.
What stood out most was the transformation: children who arrived feeling nervous left with confidence, curiosity, and a genuine desire to do better for our planet.
These sessions truly embodied Seaful’s mission, and I feel proud to be part of it.

“The kids had a good time and hopefully learned from the experience and maybe I reconnected on those quiet moments on the water too 🙂.” Martin – Volunteer
“It was amazing to watch the children learn about their environment and confidence building off the water and on, was second to none. As for Craig and his game to help explain where their drinking water came from and pollution it was fantastic. Well done Craig as they remembered everything you taught them” Jackie – Volunteer
